Current vacancies

 We are looking for another Assessor to join our team.

You should be able to assess Retail at Levels 2 and 3 and Management at Level 3.  The ability to assess Business and Administration would be a bonus.

The ability to do Internal Verification would be of benefit but training in this can be given.

 You must be able to cover the whole of Scotland and be willing to spend overnights away from home when necessary.

 Reporting to:            Operations Director


Purpose:                     To help candidates identify opportunities to prove their competence

Qualifications:            Current occupational competence in chosen vocational areas D32 and D33 or A1 or L&D 9DI or TAQA


Your Job:


 §  Visit candidates regularly and update their online portfolio as necessary

§  Complete necessary paperwork for Muir Slicer Associates, SDS and Awarding Body

§  Upkeep of personal occupational competence and professional development

§  Compliance with terms and conditions as laid down in Letter of Appointment, Staff Information Booklet or Consultancy Agreement (as applicable)

§  Must hold a full driving licence

§  Must have access to appropriately insured and maintained vehicle


What success in this role will be measured on:

 §  Meeting Key Performance Indicators

§  Meeting targets set on a monthly basis

§  Developing realistic plans for learning and assessment with candidates

§  Planning and carrying out assessment process

§  Understanding assessment requirements

§  Helping candidates to meet the agreed assessment requirements

§  Reviewing candidates’ level of competence and identifying what they need to do to be fully competent

§  Assessing candidates’ knowledge and how they apply their knowledge

§  Supporting candidates with different needs during your assessment

§  Using a variety of assessment methods

§  Making a record of your assessment decisions

§  Giving candidates feedback on their performance and reviewing their progress throughout the assessment process

§  Using different types of evidence to give an overall assessment of competence

§  Working with other people involved in the assessment process such as workplace supervisors, other trainers and internal verifiers

§  Completing all necessary paperwork

§  Attending EV meetings as required

§  Attending Assessor meetings and workshops as required

§  Ensuring compliance with Muir Slicer Associates Ltd’s Quality system

§  Contributing to development of further training programmes where appropriate

§  Assisting in maintaining candidate numbers by promoting training programmes to staff in existing companies and in new companies

§  Maintaining Company, Client and Candidate confidentiality
